Alberta Traffic Signs
Stop – Red octagon. Must come to a complete stop before proceeding.
Yield – Red and white triangle. Slow down, give right-of-way.
Speed Limit – White rectangle with black numbers. Maximum legal speed.
No Entry / Do Not Enter – Road or lane is prohibited.
One Way – White arrow on black rectangle. Traffic flows in the arrow direction only.

2. Warning Signs (Caution / Hazards)
Curve Ahead – Yellow diamond. Sharp turn approaching.
Intersection Ahead – Watch for cross traffic.
Pedestrian Crossing – People may cross. Slow down.
Animal Crossing – Watch for wildlife or farm animals.
Slippery When Wet – Road may be slick in wet conditions.
3. Guide / Information Signs
Highway / Route Markers – Show highway number and direction.
Service Signs – Indicate gas stations, food, lodging, hospitals.
Destination / Distance Signs – Show distance to towns or cities.
4. Construction / Temporary Signs
Orange Diamond / Rectangle – Roadwork or temporary hazards.
Examples: Detour, Lane Closed, Workers Ahead.
5. Pavement Markings (Road Lines)
Solid White Line – Stay in your lane.
Broken White Line – Lane changes allowed when safe.
Solid Yellow Line – No passing. Separates opposite traffic.
Broken Yellow Line – Passing allowed when safe.

Red = Stop or Prohibition
Yellow = Warning
Green / Blue / Brown = Guidance / Services
